2023 NOMAD Thornton Vineyard Pinot Noir
94 pts - James Suckling
The inaugural release of Pinot Noir with NOMAD distinction comes from a truly fantastic vintage in California. Sourced from the thin, rocky soils of the east facing slopes of Sonoma, the Thornton Vineyard is planted to Calera & Pommard clones. Aged in two 500L puncheon barrel & fermented 30% whole cluster, the 100% new French oak is seamlessly integrated. Aromatics of rose hips, dried herbs, and grapefruit culminate to produce immaculate mouthfeel. Elements of wild plum, black cherry, and bergamot can be found on the palate. Finely structured, this NOMAD Pinot Noir is poised for graceful aging for 8-12 years.
